I am a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. I work on computer vision, medical image analysis, and efficient deep learning, with a particular focus on making generative and reconstruction models — especially diffusion-based ones — accurate, lightweight, and deployable in real-world and clinical settings.

I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, where my research spanned assistive technology for the visually impaired, multimodal representation learning, and sensor-based indoor positioning. Before returning to academia as a postdoc, I worked as a Senior AI Engineer at Radisen Co. Ltd., building AI-based digital radiography and abnormality-triage systems.

My current research interests center on:

  • Computer vision & medical image analysis — segmentation, reconstruction, and face presentation attack detection (anti-spoofing)
  • Efficient deep learning — lightweight architectures, knowledge distillation, and diffusion models
  • Inverse problems & image reconstruction — physics-informed and physics-guided generative modelling
  • Multimodal & transformer-based learning — vision-language retrieval and foundation models

I co-supervise MS and PhD students at KFUPM and teach undergraduate computing courses alongside hands-on AI/ML training workshops. Along the way, I’ve picked up 3 Best Paper Awards and a Korean patent for a tactile color-perception device built for visually impaired users.
